Vandag se vrouens vat ‘n ding soos dit kom. Staan regop en pak die bul by horings. Daar is nie tyd vir stil sit en jammer voel vir jouself nie. Die girl is ‘n voorbeeld van dit.
“Mother walks up the aisle… just TWO HOURS after giving birth”
Giving birth and getting married are two of the most emotionally-draining events in a woman’s life.
Incredibly, Siobhan Black managed both in the space of three hours.
The 19-year-old barely had time to grab a shower and change into her wedding gown after delivering Alisha into the world at 1.50pm.
But by 4.30pm the two of them were making a grand entrance at the civil ceremony, where 50 guests and husband-to-be Robert had been waiting patiently.
‘We knew we were cutting it a bit fine, but in the end it was just the double happiest day of my life,’ Mrs Black, of Halifax, said.
Unfortunately, she decided to stay where she was and the couple got more and more anxious as their wedding day approached.
Mrs Black said: ‘The baby was two weeks late and as it got later and later we were all joking it could happen on the wedding day.
There were gasps of amazement as she walked into the Georgian mansion for the civil wedding at 4.30pm. As the ceremony took place, Alisha slept quietly on the front row with her grandparents.
Mr Black said: ‘It was exhausting but totally worth it. Alisha is beautiful and so is Siobhan. I feel really proud of them both.’
